As The Sun crew approached, one of them walked towards the team and popped the question: “Please who do you want to see.”
He was told that the team was going see a resident of the estate, but he demanded that the person should be called on the phone before the team would be granted entry. When the many pleas of the team fell on deaf ears, The Sun crew then disclosed its mission: to see Tiwa Savage. And that instantly made him very unfriendly, and asked to know whether there was an appointment with her.
“Oga, you can’t see anyone in this estate except you call the person on phone and he or she must tell us to allow you in. Every occupant has their instruction and Tiwa Savage has given us instruction not to let anybody that comes to look for her into the estate without her permission,” the gatekeeper said with a tone of finality.
After the encounter with the gatekeeper, The Sun crew struck up a conversation with a middle-aged man seen some meters away from the gate, wanting to ascertain whether the songstress actually lives in the estate.
He said: “I am allowed to enter this estate because I work there. Tiwa Savage stays here but I haven’t seen her since the information about her marriage crisis went viral on the internet. I got to know about it like every other person.

“I saw her with her husband in December last year inside a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUV. Her husband was driving the vehicle out of the estate. Sometimes when I see her, I will wave at her and she would wave back. Apart from that, I don’t have a personal relationship with her.”
The worker explained that some other artistes also live in the estate: “Tiwa Savage is not the only artiste staying in this estate. We have Iyanya, Timaya, MI, AY (comedian) and others living here. Even TuFace Idibia has a house here and his wife, Annie Macaulay comes here regularly.
He added: “Some occupants of the estate bought land and built duplexes on it while others bought semi-detached duplex from the company that manages the estate. “

Lamar Odom Critical Condition

Lamar Odom is fighting for his life.
With Khloe Kardashian is making all medical decisions for him since the two are still technically married since filing for divorce in 2013, the former NBA basketball and reality star may not make it through the next 48 hours.
Found in a brothel 70 miles outside of Las Vegas, Odom was unresponsive Tuesday afternoon, according to a CNN report. “When they took him to the Pahrump hospital, the people there told us, ‘He doesn’t look good. He doesn’t look like he’ll make it, and if he does, he won’t be the same,’ ” said Dennis Hof, owner of the Love Ranch in Crystal where Lamar was found by two women that work there.
“Two women went to check on Odom on Tuesday afternoon, after not hearing from him since early morning, and they found him face down and unconscious,” reported ESPN. “When they turned him on his side at the direction of a 911 operator, Odom started ‘throwing up all kinds of stuff.”‘
Though Hof said he had only seen Odom “taking herbal Viagra and had drunk part of a bottle of cognac since arriving,” he denied seeing the star use any drugs. But according to Love Ranch employees and the CNN headline, “Lamar Odom had been using cocaine; brothel employees say.”
Airing their love on reality television for 20 episodes after their engagement and marriage in 2009, Kardashian told the network that though they were divorcing, he would always remain her best friend. “Despite her family’s objection, she regularly talked to her ex-husband by phone during episodes of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ this season,” reports CNN.
Playing 14 seasons in the NBA, his last two with the L.A. Lakers, Odom’s friends and former teammates have not stopped talking about Tuesday’s tragedy. “It’s tough. It’s tough because these guys were real close to him here, and the Laker family really loved him,” said Nick Young, L.A. Lakers guard, to CNN. “For anybody to be down like that and go through so much, it’s tough. Your heart goes out to him.”
Also a former teammate and Knicks coach, Derek Fisher, said Odom “is one of the greatest people I’ve ever known.”
“I don’t view him through the prism of choices that he’s made, I view him through the heart and soul of the person that he really is,” said Fisher. “I’m obviously hoping that he can pull through this and that in some fortunate way this becomes the beginning of a different ending.”
CNN reported that “fellow NBA player Dwyane Wade said he was up late, worried about his friend and former Miami teammate,” and turned to Twitter to share his love. “I can’t help but to be up right now … ,” tweeted Wade early Wednesday. “On my knees praying … please God let him pull through.” Reportedly at his bedside since arriving at the hospital, Kardashian has not released a press statement regarding Odom’s present condition.
Citing a 2011 Los Angeles Times article where Odom expressed the many deaths he has had to endure, from his infant son to his grandmother, CNN reported he said “death always seems to be around me,” said Odom to the newspaper. “I’ve been burying people for a long time.”
May Odom’s words prove untrue in this instance and he pull through and make a full recovery.

Gov Bello orders payment of LG workers

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has directed the
immediate release of March salary to the staff of local government
councils in the state. He hinged the delay in payment on the
on-going verification of the entire work force on the state government
payroll as well as that of the 25 local government councils of the
state. The Governor gave the directive when he paid an unscheduled
inspection visit to the venue of the on-going verification exercise of
local government staff at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International
Conference Centre, Minna. Majority of the council workers said that
 they were not opposed to the staff audit, but expressed displeasure at
the sufferings being experienced in the conduct of the exercise.
Moved by the plight of the workers who came from far for the exercise,
Governor Sani Bello directed the release of the salaries of the council
workers immediately, in order to ease the hardship on their families. “I
 want to appeal to you all to be patient, I have directed the release of
 everybody’s money (March Salary), and you should go back to your
councils,” the governor directed. The governor maintained that
government is not unmindful of the hardship experienced by the civil
servants, but assured that the verification must be carried out so as to
 fish out ghosts from the system.
“I wish to assure every one of you that the verification exercise was
 not a punitive measure targeted at anybody. The staff audit is a
necessity. You all can bear with me that since the inception of this
administration, we have always paid workers as at when due, but we need
to get our figures right, hence this exercise.” Justifying the staff
 audit further, the governor lamented that the revenue accrued to the
state from the federation account cannot accommodate the wage bill of the state.
“We have a very high wage bill we cannot accommodate. This month
(March) alone, the whole money we got from federal government is
N2.69billion and our wage bill is N2.4 billion. We have to borrow over
N400 million from the bank. So the verification must continue”, he
said. He then pleaded with the council workers to exercise patient
and told them that the verification exercise will be rested for a while
to enable government fine tune some identified lapses in the exercise
and resume it in a more organised manner.

Gunmen on Saturday opened fire on the Edo State Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Odubu, and his entourage in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.


Accoring to Punch, a policeman, an operative of the Department of State Security and three other persons were injured during the attack and were taken to an undisclosed hospital.

Odubu had last Wednesday formally declared his intention to contest the September 10 gubernatorial election in the state under the All Progressives Congress amidst wide speculation that his decision did not go down well with Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

It was learnt that the former lawmaker had earlier been denied access to the party’s secretariat in
Fugar, allegedly on the instruction of an official at the Government House.

Odubu was expected to meet with party delegates from the area but met the secretariat locked.

The situation was said to have angered some delegates, who later forced the gate open to enable the deputy governor meet with them.

He was said to have left for Auchi and was meeting with some delegates when the gunmen suddenly appeared, firing gunshots at his convoy.

A source, who did not want to be mentioned, told Punch that Odubu was not injured in the attack.

    “No, he was not injured but two our security men were injured. It was in Etsako West, in Auchi.

    “We ran for our dear lives. They injured a policeman, an SSS operative and three civilians and destroyed canopies. We learnt that they were paid N1m to carry out the attack,” the source said.

Efforts by Punch to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Osifo Abiodun, were not successful. Calls put across to the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Mr. Kelly Odaro, also went unanswered, they say.

A police source confirmed the attack.

He said, “It is true from the information we have heard.”

SAD: Beautiful MTN Staff, Oluwatosin Ashinwo Stabbed To Death By Her Ex-Boyfriend

Shocking details have emerged on how Miss. Oluwatosin Ashinwo, a Customer Care Officer with mobile telecommunication giant, MTN Nigeria, in Ilorin, Kwara State, was stabbed to death by her lover, after she allegedly ditched her upon discovering that he was married with two kids.



The suspect, identified simply as engineer David, a staff of a private university also in Ilorin, also inflicted serious injuries on Tosin”s mother, Mrs. Ashinwo during a bloody encounter with the young lady, which culminated in her death.

Trouble started when Tosin, a 2008 Business Administration graduate of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), who had been in the employment of MTN since September 2009, returned to her house on the fateful day, following a phone call from David.

It was gathered that David, a married man, had found Tosin’s decision to quit the relationship and settle down with another man unacceptable, having discovered that he had no future with the suspect. It was gathered that Tosin’s mother, who was aware of the relationship, had actually come to Ilorin to mediate between her daughter and the lover. The ‘engineer’ was said to have dashed to the kitchen at the heat of their argument and allegedly brought out a knife with which he attacked the two women.

“When he was stabbing her, she was shouting ‘Don’t kill me Engineer David. Don’t kill me, Engineer David. You already have two kids,’ one of the neighbours said. The neighbour argued that the man must have become angry that Tosin would still refuse his marriage intention after he had allegedly invested so much on her. Unconfirmed reports said he actually bought the car Tosin drove until her death, but the deceased was also described as a very hardworking lady who used to sell cloths in her spare time.

Tosin’s mother was said to have managed to crawl towards the door while still raising alarm for help after their attacker had left the house. “She showed people the picture of the man and asked them to help but it was too late because he had driven away.”

A nurse who saw her at the UITH said the mother was badly cut by her daughter’s lover. “She only survived by miracle,” the nurse told our reporter. Just as well, sources who saw the corpse of the late Tosin claimed she had no chance of survival going by the way she was stabbed.

It was gathered that Tosin was transferred from the Kaduna office of the telecoms company last December, following a restructuring of staff at the office. “She resumed here in Ilorin last December,” a source familiar with her story told our reporter.

But like several others who spoke on the incident, she asked not to be named in public because of fears about police inquiries. Sources said that a young man actually reported the matter to the police on the day of the incident, after he had made spirited efforts to open the gate leading to the deceased’s premises and efforts to get neighbours to help failed.

The teenager, whose house sits next to the deceased’s apartment, was said to have overheard the shouts for help coming from Tosin’s mother and when he opened the window and saw what was happening ran to the main entrance of the building but met the gate locked. He then reportedly went to the next building but there was nobody at home.

By the time he returned to Tosin’s gate, he reportedly saw the man already coming out, with bloodstain on his legs. Another neighbour, who saw the man but was ignorant of what happened in the building, claimed she saw him cleaning the blood stains from his legs before entering his Toyota Camry car to drive away.

The young man who had witnessed part of the encounter was overtaken by fright that he could not raise the alarm, but ran straight to the police station, a distance of about one and half kilometres from the house. “He didn’t even take a bike which would have made the journey faster and by the time he came back, of course, the man had left,” the neighbour said.

Spokesman for the Kwara State Police Command, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the incident and said that the command was already on the trail of the suspect. David’s mien A source within the neighbourhood confirmed that they had known both the ‘Engineer ‘and Tosin for some time and that she actually used to drive his car to her office once in a while. But neighbours said they had no interactions with the suspect because each time he came around, his tough look and domineering attitude scared people from him.

“He would never open his mouth to greet you,” one neighbour said, adding: “I remember there was a young girl that Tosin used to relate with by sending her on errands but one day this man came and saw them and asked her to send the girl away.” Another source, who was also close to the deceased, claimed that there was a time Tosin, went to stay with a relative a few kilometres away from her residence only for the ‘Engineer” to call her and asked where she was.

The source said: “He asked, ‘where are you coming from?’ and she said, ‘I was with my brother. He then asked ‘What were you doing there?’ She said resting. He asked again are you lying down or what and that one replied; how you expect me to rest if not by lying down. He just told her to come out immediately and you won’t believe it, Tosin just packed her things and headed to where the man was.”
